The losses we face in the passing of a family member are devastating. The relationships can never be replaced. And yet, there is a part of us that can find new life through the practice of grateful grieving. Each step we take to build gratitude into our lives will create space to bring gratitude into our grieving.
Every “thank you”, every memory, and every tradition allows our loved ones to touch our hearts once again. And in return, we experience healing as these relationships live on in new ways. On Sunday, February 8th, 2015, Prestonsburg HealthCare Center hosted a Celebration of Life event honoring our beloved nineteen Elders who passed away in 2014.
Friends, family members and stakeholders gathered for a memorial service led by Director of Spirituality, Amy Chapman. This was a beautiful time of healing in the grieving process and a beginning of a new tradition for the families of Prestonsburg HealthCare.
